[preshow] National Anthem. Exchanged joke & shirt compliments in restroom with "redneck". After informing merch ladies of travel challenge i saved $5 on ecwa tape!

[recap] JD Browning over Kid USA[4/10 struts] [Scramble]Bolt Brady over 4 debuting jobbers[5/10 lightning bolts] [Womens Title]Renee Michelle over Brittany Blake[6/10 femme fatales] [Boss's Chair with Mike Tartaglia,Joel Blackheart & Chris Wylde] [Title/Career/Lumberjack]Mr Ooh La La over Phil Sly[La La new champ & Sly's retired/5/10 la las] Bobby Shields over Tripp Cassidy[6/10 swords] [Texas Tornado]Breaker Morant over Cory Kastle[7/10 singapore canes] [Tag Title[Extreme Rednecks over D-Line[new 2X champs,6/10 rednecks] [World Title]Matt Saigon over Azrieal & Ricky Martinez[7/10 phenoms]

[review]Overall the building was what you'd expect from a community center:enough space for 4-500,several merch tables, colorteam & timekeeper/announcer table, restroom, eatery section & ideal parking. Browning was like a straight version of Adrian Adonis.(although "bamm bamm" could mean not-so-obvious?) Kid USA would be what "patriot" Del Wilkes had in mind if he had a son.(minus solid physique) Scramble victor Brady stood out in pretty tight group of debuting pros.(having AR Fox's body & Ricochet's hair is added pluses) Blake showed some promise while Michelle rained strong heel heat @ everyone. Post Match Renee GIVING brittany the belt then warning her to be ready after asain tour was equally confusing & inappropriate. Boss Chair segment was very well done between tartaglia's vacation pics/blackheart's resume plugging/wylde's challenge of mike which led to brief bout which led to interrupted multi squash of scramble pros by another debuting unknown. lumberjack bout was colorful/comedy standout.(heel fans holding cuban flag while face gets face lumberjacks & ALL of them having beef with sly!) la la celebrates with kids afterward.(as far as i know the cuban belt has no official status) Shields has look & style of Ken Anderson. Texas Tornado surprisingly was somewhat conservative in weapons department yet mostly realistic. Tag Belts changing hands for 2nd time in 2 months means both sides need decisive stipulation to clearly prove brand's top team! Martinez had Pan Corp,Saigon had "Big Red" & Azrieal brought veteran experience to create all around best story. Being my first ECWA show i lowered usual standards to some degree. Grade B-

2nd Annual ECWA Women’s Super 8 ChickFight Tournament results
BY NEWS · OCT 19, 2015

ECWA proudly presented the Super 8 ChickFight Tournament on Saturday October 17, 2015. It was a night of new champions, debuts, and a fantastic display of professional wrestling by all involved. Here’s a brief recap & results review for those that may have missed the event:

CRmDX_iXAAAI-LP

Super 8 Quarter Finals

Brittany Blake defeated Terra Calaway via small package: The much stronger and bigger Calaway dominated this match from beginning to end. Even with an impressive display of power, Blake’s resourcefulness proved true as she rolled up Calaway for the pinfall out of nowhere.

Deonna Purrazzo defeated Miranda Vionette via submission- What started as a game of the two opponents one upping each other turned into an impressive display of chain and mat wrestling. Vionette, a relative rookie, made too many mistakes. Purrazzo capitalized and scored a submission victory.

Kennadi Brink defeated Savannah Evans via pinfall- Evans was a last minute replacement but certainly didn’t wrestle like one. Her size and strength put Brink on notice early on. But with Brink’s new look came new moves as she put on an impressive display of speed attacks for someone more known for her power. In the end, Brink’s experience was too much and she scored a victory.

Tessa Blanchard defeated Daysia Gilbert via slingshot suplex- Gilbert was also a last minute replacement but impressed going toe for toe with last year‘s champ. However, Tessa’s vastly grown in the last year and with growth comes strength as the girl with a famous last name would not be denied a victory with her trademark sling shot suplex.

PCA (Ricky Martinez & Damian Adams) w/ AJ Pan defeated the Extreme Rednecks (Chuck & Kyle Payne) w/ The Don to become the NEW ECWA Tag Team Champions- The Rednecks came in on a huge roll as of late. But the PCA is not known for playing fair… Chuck and Kyle took turns mostly dominating the challengers and keeping AJ Pan out of the equation. But in the end, a distraction caused by Meisure Ooh La La’s assault of the Don and the Rednecks inability to communicate proved too much as Ricky Martinez downed Chuck for a 1..2..3.

Bobby Shields retains the ECWA Mid Atlantic Championship via DQ- Shields came to the ring and issued an open challenge to anyone in the locker room. Enter Ricky Martinez. A great back and forth match ensued. Martinez would seemingly close in on a victory but the resilient champion would rally. Just as it looked like Shields was closing in on a victory, Martinez would deliver a low blow ending the match in a DQ. Afterwards, the PCA would beat down Shields repeatedly.

Super 8 Semi Finals

Deonna Purrazzo defeats Brittany Blake via submission- The feisty Blake came out on all cylinders attacking Purrazzo. Flying around the ring with a beautiful mixture of aerial and ground attacks it looked like curtains for the Italian beauty. But Purrazzo’s MO lately seems to be weather the storm and brutality attack her opponent. Weakening Blake slowly but steadily the strategy worked once again as Purrazzo forced Blake to submit.

Tessa Blanchard defeats Kennadi Brink via submission- This one promised to be a slugfest and it was from start to finish. Tessa trying to steadily weaken the much stronger Brink. And Brink trying to deliver deciding brutal blows. Back and forth they went trading impressive moves. But as such is the case in most Super 8 matches one miscue by Brink and Blanchard immediately went for the kill forcing her to tap out with an arm bar submission.

Sean Carr defeats Matt Saigon to become the NEW ECWA Heavyweight Champion- In what could very well be the craziest Heavyweight title match in ECWA history, this was one to remember. Carr, the cocky loudmouth, proved yet again he’s an amazing wrestler with a great display of ground and pound on the now former champion. Saigon’s power was neutralized for most of the contest but tried to steal one at the end… unfortunately an unconscious ref, Carr using the belt to hit Saigon, a new ref, and then a controversial ending as Carr pinned Saigon to win the championship despite seemingly having his foot on the bottom rope as the referee counted 3 made for one crazy ending as Carr wins the championship.

Deonna Purrazzo defeats Tessa Blanchard via submission to become the NEW ECWA Woman’s Champion and the 2015 Super 8 ChickFight Champion- In what many call a women’s match for the ages with two wills to win… only one could walk away champion. Purrazzo and Blanchard put on a dazzling display of wrestling in, above, and out of the ring much to the crowd’s delight. Blanchard’s anger made her never give up, asking to be hit and then delivering devastating blows herself. Purrazzo showing her chain/mat wrestling skills are unmatched always there to answer the defending champions rally. In the end, Blanchard threw everything she had at Purrazzo with submissions and her trademark slingshot suplex. But Purrazzo’s amazing toughness was far too much… Purrazzo pounced locking in her wrenching arm bar submission. Battling for minutes, Blanchard eventually had to tap out.

[4/23/16] [Sean Carr sidelined by last minute injury. Did pre-show segment tongue lashing announcer BOB ARTESE & crowd] Tom Carter & Ace Darling handle medal ceremony]

[quarterfinals] Napalm Bomb over Danny Inferno(5/10 detonations) John Skyler over Scott Taylor(5/10 saviors) post bout does the WORM on "the boss" Mike Tartaglia! Papadon over Aden Chambers(6/10 gods) Jason Kincaid over Kekoa(7/10 gifts) [semifinals] Napalm Bomb over Papadon(6/10 hiroshimas) post bout Papadon & Carr exchange heated words! John Skyler over Jason Kincaid(6/10 saviors) [Mid Atlantic/TagTitles] Pan Corp of Azrieal/Ricky Martinez/Damian Adams over Bob Shields/Mike Verna/Matt Talon(7/10 good guys) [finals] Napalm Bomb over John Skyler(7/10 explosions)

[super sensations] In spite of superb weather & strong attendance there was very surprising lack of energetic pop from most of crowd. Joanie Laurer/Balls Mahoney got bell/silence memorium. Scott "scotty too hotty" Taylor did respectably well, then made inevitable nostalgic impact of old gimmick at booker Tartaglia's expense. The former "flying hawaiian" Kekoa showed new maturity in updated brand return(?) "Greek God" Papadon was reliable stiff style & magnetic presence.(potential Papadon/Carr feud could prove to be very strong indeed) Was very impressed at seeing Jason Kincaid in person.(his deceptive look, nickname,& extra skillful offense would make him a top level star in any northeast brand) With Tag AND Mid Atlantic belts in AJ Pan's greedy grip means Pan Corp is poised to take over brand this year.(Martinez's hand sized frame posing was comedy highlight & seeing the "good guy" with new gold reminded me when he dominated as 3X JAP state champion) Skyler showed very impressive ring savvy & versatility. 9-year veteran Bomb makes for a very humble & deserving winner who reminds me somewhat of ex indy pro Uhaa Nation. Grade B

Howie Timberche over Breaker Morant(5/10 bdays) Zombie King over Ty Awesome(6/10 bdays) [TagTitle]Pan Corp over Mr Ooh Lala/Josh Adams(5/10 bdays) [Womens Title]Deonna Purrazzo over Karen Q(5/10 bdays) [MidAtlantic Title/Roster Spot]Azrieal over Bobby Shields(7/10 bdays) Big Gino over Mike "the boss" Tartaglia(4/10 bdays) [TagTitle Contender]Extreme Rednecks & Classics to confused draw. [World Title]Sean "hybrid" Carr over Crowbar(6/10 bdays)

[birthday bedlam]Once again, even after 4+weeks of plugging & plenty of overall show investment there was no noticeable attendance increase OR synergy from most of crowd. Announcer Bob Artese either strained throat or used semi-broken microphone since hearing him clearly was another consistent distraction.(thanks for adding name to unofficial shirt!) New spotseeker Timberche(2016 version of salatore sincere with better voice)made respectable debut by surprise upset & "song psychology". Morant:"i don't know if he wants to fight me or date me." Other spotseekers King & Awesome told very respectable story & both share strong star potential. TagTitle had good level promise but absence of Browning/Martinez on both sides subtracted somewhat.(former heartthrob romeo roselli did serviceable job) Was casually impressed by Purrazzo yet more so by Q who's promising mix of Blanchard versatility & Michele heel heat. AZ/Shield's last clash was card's all around standout as both wrote each other's best work this year!(clearing ringside of Pan Corp made AZ 's victory more honorable & gave Bobby's departure deeper personal context) Nothing really distinctive or interesting about "big gino" other than upset win where Phil Sly played it "right down the middle".(since losing long feud with lala has the "cunning cuban" reformed his villainous ways forever?!?) HAPPY U YR TARTAGLIA!(9/25) Contender bout ended in too chaotic a way to know which team deserved shot. Crowbar did good work while Carr put on a physical clinic inside & verbal clinic outside further proving what i said:"hybrids adapt & dominate!" Grade B-
