youd think Mikey Chase, having learned from promoter extraordinaire Joey Bricco would use TBH and other avenues and devices of promotion that are at his disposal but i guess not. this is the first ive heard of this show/fed.

Worth checking out. This photo doesn't show the main event of Ricky Reyes vs Brian Fury!

What the hell is up with all the "points" and "divisions" shit?

Re: Paragon League Wrestling

New postby NickDAngelo on September 15th, 2014, 4:51 pm

Hey guys! I'm Nick D'Angelo and I am Mikey Chase's business partner and co-owner of Paragon League Wrestling. The idea of Paragon is to blend the statistical tension of major sports, with the drama and entertainment of pro-wrestling. It will operate in a seasonal structure, with a short off season. Just to give a brief rundown of our experimental new system, the basic gist of it is this:

For the most part, it's still the wrestling you know and love. However stories, rivalries, and matches are built within the structure of a league rather than "Random wrestler (A) sneak attacks random champion wrestler (B) and because cliche says so, wrestler (A) is suddenly in line for a title shot.

The league is set up into divisions. The Elite Division, Ironheart Division, Quest Division, and Tag-Team Division. Wrestlers will earn points during their matches by performing certain actions in the ring IE, perform a finishing maneuver, go for a pin, kick out of a pin, break a submission etc. (A point reference sheet will be given to the fans at the event so they know what actions earn and lose points.) The idea being the better you wrestle and the more competitive the match, the more points you earn. Winning the match of course is the most important thing and gives competitors a HUGE point boost. The points determine the competitors placement within the league. The Elite, Ironheart, and Tag-Team divisions have Championships at their helm that are earned and defended like you would expect from championship belts. At the end of the Season, the top two competitors in each division along with 2 "Wild Card" wrestlers will be entered into a final tournament to determine the 2014-2015 Paragon League Champion. Think of this like the "World Series" of Paragon. That competitor is crowned the champion for that season, and then next season the points and stats are wiped and we start fresh for the 2015-2016 season (assuming old grudges don't carry over... you never know.)

Paragon League Wrestling will be the first wrestling organization to have a written rulebook in existence since the old NWA, which not only includes all these rules and league structure we've designed, but all the traditional rules of wrestling we've come to take for granted. Fans who buy front row seats in advance will receive a free copy of the rulebook, but others can purchase them at the event.

Ken's Cards & Collectibles will have a stand set up at the event and the new concept will certainly make Paragon different than everything else out there, while also showcasing a very solid match line up. We're very confident in the ability of our starting roster to deliver an outstanding show. Recently added to the show (AKA not on the graphic pictured above) is "The Machine" Sam Shields vs."The Sexual Spider Monkey" Pinkie Sanchez! The fatal 4-way has been changed to feature "Adorable" Danny Miles vs. Geno "Da God" Espada vs. "The Sure Shot" Damien Black vs. Sasha Jenkins.

We can be found on facebook at facebook.com/paragonleaguewrestling (This page used to be the CTWE Pro-Wrestling page)
Tickets can be purchased in advance at paragonleague.com/tickets

Look forward to seeing you guys on the 19th :-)

Also for those of you who expressed interest in attending this Friday, Paragon just announced on its facebook page a huge venue upgrade! it will NOT be at the Balcony Banquet Facility in Hamden! Here is the announcement from the page:

**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT** In keeping with Paragon League Wrestling's mission to provide our fans with the ideal wrestling experience, we have decided to upgrade our venue for Paragon [1]: Reyes vs. Fury this Friday September 19th. The show will now be held in the Vine Auditorium at the Jewish Community Center in Woodbridge CT! The address, 360 Amity Road, Woodbridge CT, 06525, is conveniently located right off exit 59 on the Merritt Parkway, less than 10 minutes from the old venue, and less than 2 miles down the road from the Bethany Town Hall where CTWE used to run it's events. We feel our upgrade to this beautiful state of the art facility is a huge bonus for all our wonderful fans who are ready to have a great time this Friday night at 7:00 PM, and a huge step forward for the Paragon League. We have a tremendous show ready for you. We can't wait to DELIVER! See you in ‪#‎5Days‬ ‪#‎ParagonNation‬ ‪#‎Paragon1‬ ‪#‎PickParagon‬

I don't know how smart is is to change your venue the week of the show....unless of course you've done zero advertising for it outside of facebook...which by the looks of the initial post in this thread might just be the case.....

It's a mix of a situation out of our control with the previous venue, which happened at the exact same time we had an opportunity to select a superior venue. We would have had our 2nd show at the JCC no matter what. We are confident that the venue change will only help our event be a success.

Since it is not too late to change venues maybe it is not too late to change the name of the company. I think Paragon Wrestling would be a fine name and wouldn't get confused with another wrestling league out of Rhode Island.

thanks for the quick results. my favs Milk Chocolate,The M1nute Men and Jay Freddie all were in good form. Tunis/Cole and Fury/Reyes stood out as well but everything was at least decent. id seen Shields a couple times before and didnt think much but he actually seemed good last night.
