The Eastern Wrestling Alliance returns to action at 7:30pm on Saturday night, June 23rd at the Springfield Turnverein (located at 176 Garden Street in Feeding Hills, MA)! Following an action-packed card on May 12th which saw both Punk n’ Prep United crowned the new EWA Tag Team Champions, and Alex Cypher crowned the new EWA Heavyweight Champion, the EWA heads into the 6/23/12 show with an EWA first- a War Games steel cage match! Tickets are available in advance at Bourbon Park Bar on 360 North Westfield Street in Feeding Hills, or at the door on the night of the event, for only $10 for adults and $7 for children under 10 years of age. Don’t miss your chance to catch the last EWA show of the season live on June 23rd!
On the heels of Alex Cypher’s title victory over “Golden” Sean Burke in an excellent main event on 5/12/12, Joey Eastman made a challenge for a War Games match with Eastmen Worldwide vs. the Diamonds of the Ring on 6/23/12. Since that time, Marshall McNeil has been scrambling to protect his interests. McNeil argued that with “Royalty” William King out of the area on 6/23/12 and the Mac lobbying for a re-match with “The shaft” Bobby Ocean, that the Diamonds were out-manned and would not consent to a handicap match. Eastmen Worldwide responded in turn, with “The Upgrade” Alex Cypher agreeing to bow out of the match to defend his EWA Heavyweight Title for the first time. Eastman also agreed to allow McNeil to assemble his team however he sees fit, with one provision- that both Eastman and McNeil enter the match! On Saturday night, June 23, a steel cage will surround the ring while participants from each team enter the fray in 2-minute intervals. When everyone has entered, the match can be won one way- by submission! The feud that has spanned longer than a year, and began with a wedding, will end inside of a steel cage on June 23rd. Be there live to see it all unfold!
Punk n’ Prep United led the crowd in a memorable post-match celebration on May 12th, when they outlasted the Rising Sons and the Purists to win the EWA Tag Team Championships. On 6/23/12, Punk n’ Prep make their first title defense, as they face former champions the Purists. The Purists have defined tag team excellence for the last few years, and have dedicated themselves to training to regain their throne. While Punk n’ Prep United won the most recent three team match-up, they had only defeated the Purists once before, in a non-title match, with the Purists winning all the other encounters between the two teams. Will the Purists be able to regain the EWA Tag Team Titles on 6/23/12, or will Punk n’ Prep United prove themselves to be the real deal in the EWA? Don’t miss it!
On June 23rd, the Mac had his first opportunity to get his hands on his former tag team partner, Bobby Ocean, since Ocean had viciously attacked the Mac and joined the Diamonds of the Ring. The match saw a different side of the Mac, who was more aggressive in this match than any other EWA match to date. This aggression ultimately cost the Mac, however, as while the referee was physically intervening to separate the Mac from Ocean, he missed a low blow by Ocean which led to the Mac’s defeat. Undeterred, the Mac has challenged Ocean to another match on 6/23/12, and is as fired up as ever about getting revenge on “the Shaft.” This match promises to be an intense physical contest, see it happen on Saturday 6/23/12!
All this plus action featuring “the Promise” Antonio Thomas, Mike Nice, Team Shazaam, Zachary Pierre Beaulieu and much more! Do not miss you chance to see a night of wrestling action, headlined by the EWA’s first ever “War Games” steel cage match-up on Saturday night, June23rd! BE THERE!!!
