In the main event, the reigning and defending EWA Heavyweight Champion, “Golden” Sean Burke, meets up with the man who has fought his way through the Diamonds of the Ring to earn this match, “The Upgrade” Alex Cypher. Their story begins over a year ago, when Burke and Cypher’s respective managers, Marshall McNeil and Joey Eastman, agreed to work collaboratively on a professional…a relationship which then turned personal. The two became engaged, following McNeil accepting Eastman’s in-ring proposal. On June 25, 2011, the budding romance took an unexpected turn, when, surrounded by the likes of a dancing banana, a green man and Justice of the Peace John Cena Sr. at their wedding ceremony, McNeil refused to take his vows. McNeil then berated Eastman, stating that his interest in their relationship had waned, and introduced the new love of his life, the former couple’s pool boy. After being slapped across the face by McNeil, Eastman had enough and attacked. When Eastman’s sole charge at the time, Alex Cypher, attempted to intervene and separate the two, he found himself attacked by the Diamonds of the Ring. When the smoke cleared, Cypher and Eastman were left nearly lifeless, amongst loose shoes, smashed flowers, and Eastman’s broken heart. Later that night, Eastman began forming Eastmen Worldwide, recruiting Mikaze following Burke’s winning the EWA Title from him under dubious circumstances. Throughout the following 10 months, Eastmen Worldwide has battled the Diamonds, with each side claiming victories along the way. Burke has maintained his grasp on the EWA Heavyweight Title, having turned back formidable challenges from opponents including Mikaze, Slyck Wagner Brown and Antonio Thomas. Cypher led Worldwide to a victory in a bunkhouse brawl 6-man tag team match in November, putting Dr. Reginald Heresy on the shelf for several months. He continued his march through the Diamonds in January, defeating “Royalty” William King following DDTs on both the apron and the floor. In February, Cypher’s streak of injuring the Diamonds continued, as he injured Johnny Idol’s leg during a submission victory in their singles match. On March 24th, Cypher found himself against all odds, as he was the last member of his team in a 6-man elimination match, alone against Heresy, Idol and King. One-by-one, Cypher eliminated each of the three, winning the match and cementing himself as the undisputed number one contender for Burke’s EWA Heavyweight Title. On Saturday night, May 12th, the EWA Heavyweight Title match over a year in the making takes place, as the Diamond’s Burke defends his championship against Worldwide’s Cypher. Be there live to see it all take place!
EWA Tag Team Champions the Purists have held the titles since last June, winning them on the same show that saw the war between the Diamonds and Worldwide begin. Since that time, the Purists have defined tag team excellence in New England, turning back all challengers. On Saturday night, May 12, the Purists face a unique challenge, as their titles are on the line in a Three-Way Dance against Punk n’ Prep United and the Rising Sons (Taka Suzuki and Mikaze). The Purists may find themselves on the outside looking in, as their titles could be won by either competing team, and the Purists will have to be on top of their game to avoid elimination and survive this match. Punk n’ Prep United hold a non-title victory over the Purists and came close to dethroning them on several occasions, while the Rising Sons performed spectacularly in their title match against the Purists in March. Will the Purists be able to retain their titles and the claim to being the best in New England? Will either of the contending teams be able to unseat the champions? Do not miss your chance to see three of the best teams in New England today decide the future of the EWA Tag Team Championship on Saturday March 24!
Former teammates and close friends the Mac and Bobby Ocean have travelled a long road together, having shared victories and defeats over the course of the past year. This past Fall, seeds were planted suggesting that one of the two was petitioning to join the Diamonds of the Ring. Each man denied the allegation adamantly, but the suggestion seemed to wound the duo to the core. As the months went on, their arguments escalated, along with increasing misunderstandings. Ocean, a longtime enemy of the Diamonds, seemed especially angry at the thought that the Mac was deceiving him. Following a failed effort to unseat the Purists in February, which saw Ocean down outside the ring for a long period of time after inadvertently colliding with the Mac, the truth came to light. After helping his downed partner to his feet post-match, Ocean delivered a brutal clothesline to the Mac, and unleashed a relentless beating upon his helpless former friend. Marshall McNeil came to ringside, and welcomed the Diamonds’ newest member, “The Shaft” Bobby Ocean. Ocean quickly proved his worth to the Diamonds, as he took out Joey Eastman on Eastman’s way to the 3/24/12 show, proudly sharing his feat virally. The Mac will have his first opportunity at revenge on Saturday night, May 12, as he will meet the man who cast doubt upon his integrity, before viciously turning on him mid-ring. Be there live to see this one explode!
“The City” Sebastian Reese had amassed an impressive track record in the EWA, mowing through his competition…before the arrival of Vinny Marseglia. In January, Marseglia scored the upset pin on Reese in a 6-man tag team match. Post-match, Reese unleashed his frustration on Marseglia and took Marseglia’s own belt, whipping and then hanging Marseglia over the top rope. As Marseglia recuperated in February, Reese got back on track with a victory over Lukas Sharpe, and anticipated a singles match with Marseglia on 3/24. After a battle which saw Marseglia’s belt be used by both competitors, Reese found his shoulders once on the mat, after Marseglia reversed a pin by Reese. Reese achieved a measure of revenge post-match, when he got the better of Marseglia and once again whipped Marseglia with his own belt. On May 12th, there promises to be welts aplenty with nowhere to run, as Sebastian Reese takes on Vinny Marseglia in a strap match! At the insistence of both competitors, this match will be one pinfall to a finish instead of traditional strap match rules. Can Reese focus his anger and frustration and avenge his losses? Can Marseglia once again overcome the physical odds and defeat the massive Reese? Be there live to see the lashings on May 12th!
In six-man tag team action, Diamonds of the Ring members Dr. Reginald Heresy, “Egomaniac” Jonny Idol and “Royalty” William King look to rebound from their loss to Cypher in the elimination match in March. They face a unique challenge in the form of their opponents, who represent a blast from the past for all three men. On Saturday, 5/12/12, the Diamonds will take on the Heart Throbs, Antonio Thomas and Romeo Roselli, and “Dancing” Don Juan DeSanto! The Heart Throbs are former EWA Tag Team Champions, and have defeated the tandem of Idol and King in the past. DeSanto and Heresy have a storied history in the EWA dating back over a decade, as the two have both teamed and alternately feuded over the EWA Heavyweight Title when the EWA was based in Maine. While there are no strangers in this match, it has been a long time since these competitors have met up, and this match presents a lot of unique possibilities. Don’t miss your chance to catch this classic EWA match-up on May 12th!
Dan De Man has proclaimed himself as the EWA’s greatest entertainer, and has proven himself to be resident EWA Superhero Shane Marvel’s greatest foil. Using tactics ranging from cronies hiding underneath the ring to using Marvel’s own mask as a weapon against him, Dan has been Marvel’s kryptonite in the EWA. Seeking to vanquish his arch-nemesis once and for all, Marvel steps into the ring on May 12th to face Dan De Man- in a Gotham City Street Fight! Will Marvel be able to restore justice to the EWA, or will Dan’s master plan prove too much to overcome? See it live on May 12th!
There will be additional EWA action featuring Eastmen Worldwide members Tapu and Scotty Slade, Zachary Pierre Beaulieu, I.M. Valor and more! Be there live to see it all unfold, starting at 7:30pm on Saturday May 12th! Don’t miss out!
